However, Wajid and singer Shivranjani Singh, still manage to show a good time. Danish Sabri's House Party, sung by Sajid and Wajid is strictly for the party-goers this season. The obvious inspiration from Honey Singh's Party All Night (Boss) is evident but the sin can be pardoned as the track has all elements of being a crowd-pleaser. The addictive words of the hookline are enough to salvage the misdeeds of this number. Kanika Kapoor does a Munni Reloaded with the catchy Jawaani Le Doobi, that soars higher due to Ikka's rap beats in it and newcomer Uvie's singing. The good blend of folksy and techno tunes is sure to make this a hit in the party circuits.

Two-and-a-half decades later, the film's second installment fails to mirror the same. With just two songs, lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya and composer trio Shankar Ehsaan Loy put forward their most average work. The first song 'Lapak Jhapak', sung by Armaan Malik, Siddharth Mahadevan and Yashita Sharma, is a youthful number about college-goers. The composition is rather run-of-the-mill, though peppered with quirky lyrics.

Romantic music is the most defining feature — apart from the onscreen chemistry, of course — of SRK-Kajol films. Pritam takes up the challenge of composing the soundtrack for this latest one with Amitabh Bhattacharya as lyricist. Opening track 'Gerua' is a 2015 number on the lines of SRK-Kajol hits 'Tujhe dekha toh' and 'Suraj hua maddham'.
